Which Bracelet Is Right for You? Protection vs Wealth vs Love vs Calm

Choose your bracelet by intention first, then material. For protection, wear black obsidian or peach wood. For wealth and abundance, wear fortune coins, a Pixiu guardian or citrine. For love and connection, wear lotus seed. For peace and calm, wear sandalwood or agarwood. For wisdom and focus, wear bodhi seed or red sandalwood. The table below maps each intention to its traditional material and which wrist to wear it on.

Start with your intention

In both Buddhist and feng-shui tradition, materials carry meaning. The clearest way to choose is to name what you're reaching for, then pick the material long associated with it.

Which hand should you wear it on?

A common feng-shui guideline is left to receive, right to release. Bracelets meant to draw something in — abundance, calm, love — are traditionally worn on the left; pieces meant to release or protect outward are worn on the right. A Pixiu wealth piece is traditionally worn with its head facing outward. These are traditions, not rules — wear yours where it feels right.

Then choose the material

  • Sandalwood / agarwood — fragrant 'woods of stillness'; the choice for meditation and calm.
  • Bodhi seed — the classic practice bead, for focus and clarity.
  • Black obsidian — grounding, all-black, unisex; a symbol of protection.
  • Jade — heaven's stone, for harmony and good fortune; an heirloom material.
  • Lotus seed — the emblem of compassion and open-hearted connection.
  • Fortune coins / Pixiu — the feng-shui emblems of abundance.
Wear it with intention; let it remind you of what you're reaching for.

However you choose, the meaning deepens when the piece has been consecrated in a traditional ceremony — a blessing that turns a beautiful object into a personal touchstone.
